“My grandpa came from China in the 1940s and settled down in Malaysia. Growing up, I was taught about my culture but was never proud of my identity and never had the interest to learn the Chinese language. I idolised the Western way of life and unknowingly had forgotten about my own heritage. After becoming a mom, it struck me: Our cultural roots are a part of our identity and it is our responsibility to preserve it for the next generations to come.” Nicole, Founder of 8SIAN said.
Nicole started exploring the fascinating world of NFTs but was disheartened by what she largely saw as a male-dominated space. She longed for something that resonated with her identity as a strong, Asian woman. A moment of inspiration came to her – she felt that the NFT space could be repurposed to celebrate and showcase Asian art and culture.
The Asia Blockchain Community (ABC) is a community based and run by volunteers in Asia. ABC understands the market well and is supported by a panel of blockchain and crypto experts and influencers. The community has hosted more than 50 projects in recent months.
