[Blockchain Today Correspondent Han Ji-hye] It is reported that an Indonesian university student became a millionaire by selling his selfie with NFT (Nonfungible Token).

According to a Cointelegraph report on the 16th (local time), Ghozali, a 22-year-old computer science student from Semarang, Indonesia, presented her selfie NFT collection ‘Gojali Everyday’ at OpenSea in December of last year. (Ghozali Everyday)’ became a millionaire.

Gojali converted and sold 1000 photos of the selfies she took over the past five years between the ages of 18-22 into NFT. The photo was taken while sitting or standing in front of a computer without an expression, and was uploaded to OpenC in December 2021.

Gojali’s expressionless selfie NFT, with enthusiastic support from influential members of Crypto Twitter, set a record on the 14th, when an NFT, originally priced at $3, sold for 0.247 ETH (worth about $806 at the time of sale).

Digital news platform Lifestyle Asia reported that the highest price for Gojali’s selfie NFT was 0.9 ETH, or about $3,000. Since then, the total sales of this NFT collection have reached 317 ETH, which is over $1 million.

Meanwhile, despite the sluggish performance of the entire cryptocurrency market, the recent NFT market and the blockchain game industry continue to record high trading volumes.

According to data from Dapp data platform DappRadar, the number of unique active wallets (UAWs) connected to Ethereum NFT dApps has increased by 43% since the third quarter of last year. Additionally, assets generated by NFT transactions increased from $10.7 billion in the third quarter of 2021 to $11.9 billion in the first 10 days of 2022.
