Welcome to Asia Blockcast Community (ABC). ABC is a community that is based in Asia and run by volunteers. We know the market very well and is backed by a panel of blockchain & crypto experts and influencers. Our mission is to create value for projects & members & educate the general public about blockchain and crypto through the work in our community.

Without further ado, let us welcome our guest to the house, Jay Lee from Fortress-Arena!

1) Thanks for coming by Asia Blockchain Community. Can you tell us about yourself and your team members?

Yes, Hello, Let me start by introducing myself. I’m Jay Lee one of the founding members of FANTOM Foundation, I’ve taken a role as an operation director in FANTOM and managed the whole 40 million USD hard cap ICO process from the bottom up.

For the Fortress-Arena we are working with 3 different teams. Retiad, an original game developer of Fortress. Atomrigs, Blockchain tech team with many years of experience in the Asian market. And Play Factory for overall operations and distributions.

Most of our members have been around the blockchain industry for a long time and have seen ups and downs. We know what needs to be done in terms of maintaining the token economy in a long term.

2) What is Fortress Arena all about? What makes you stand out from your competitors?

Fortress-Arena is a remake of the Fortress V2 with the P2E (Play to Earn) system added. Fortress was a turn-based shooting game, first released in 1997 in Korea. It was sensational back then reaching million of users just in Korea. The main difference from the previous version is that it will be released as a mobile version with a token economy running around it.

It was actually the first game in Korea game history to reach 10million in users. I should be careful when speaking about other competitors, but we have 2 outstanding points. 1) It is fun – Users can actually enjoy the game, 2) We have a token economy for a long run.

Many P2E games that are released these days are rapidly forged games just for P2E which didn’t have enough time for POC(Proof-of-Concept). The Fortress has been loved by many users for over two decades and we are just adding P2E system on top of it.

Also, other P2E games don’t have a good system to maintain the token economy for the long term. There are often investors dumping the tokens which cause the breakdown in the token economy.

We are sufficient financially, to begin with, so we do not have an allocation for crypto VCs. Our funding will solely come from the participants like yourself, so there will be less risk in the free fall of the token price. We have a system that absorbs coins to maintain the token price and provide liquidity. You can refer to the white paper for more details.

3) What is the gameplay of Tank NFT? How does it work in your ecosystem?

There will be 3 main usages of Tank NFT in the ecosystem. 1) A single tank will be needed in order to play the game and gain tokens for incentive. 2) Combining Tank-NFT will need a pair of tanks it will allow you to have an additional tank. 3) If you are an owner of a tank and don’t have enough time to play games. You can rent the Tank-NFT to another user so you can split the incentive tokens.

4) Can you walk us through your different game modes? PvP, PvE, TBD?

There are 2 game modes that will be released first. PvP is a battle between players, and there are individual and team matches. Those who survive longer will be rewarded by rank. PvE mode is a mode where you can obtain tokens by clearing the stage.

We have another mode called deathmatch in the plan which is like a PK mode. It’s in an ideation stage so we will share with the public when there is something concrete.

5) How does your marketing plan look like for the next 3 months? Who are you targeting?

Korea comes first, followed by Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and the Philippines. The Fortress game is famous in this community. It was also famous in Japan and China, but it is not easy to promote. I know that in the United States and Europe, it was more famous under the name Gunbound than Fortress. These two games are almost similar, but because they are different games, it was difficult to promote them due to copyright issues.

We have marketing managers and contractors all over the Asia continent. Until now we have just done the viral marketing since we have a limited number of Tank-NFTs open for sale. However, right after the Tank-NFT Sale, we will deploy our marketing resources – first for the token sale, then to attract the actual players of the game.

6) Can you tell me about Play Factory and their involvement in the project?

As mentioned earlier, Play Factory is doing the planning and operating side of the P2E game Fortress. We are a team of 12 for now all of which has good experience in the blockchain industry for 3 to 6 years. We have a consultant Jay Byun who has been in the game industry for over 20 years.

Our main role is to build a long-term plan to maintain the token economy and marketing to draw in.

Our ultimate goal is to form a Guild called a MGG(Minted games guild) and on-board more games that we consult and operate as we go. Forming a bigger economy as a whole will make the token economy more stable.

7) What are the chances of getting a legendary or higher level NFT?

There are in total five grades of tanks: Normal/Superior/Rare/Epic/Legendary. We are currently setting up the probability and the rarity table will be shared with the public before it is released.

8) Where are your core revenue streams coming from?

Our initial operation fee would be coming in from the NFT and Token Sales, but as I’ve mentioned earlier, we are financially sufficient. Therefore, we might mainly use them to provide liquidity for the token.

Our future operation fee will come from 5 revenue streams presented in the white paper – Combination Fee / NFT Trading Fee / Fees from liquidity pool / Repair Shop / Gacha System.

Our business model is as follows. Most of the fees will be used to maintain the token economy and to provide stability for the token.

9) As you mentioned previously, we know that you have plans to expand into South East Asia, can you share with us more about it?

Of course. Our starting point is Korea, however, we are looking to expand it globally. We are aware of how serious people are in the South East Asian market with P2E games and definitely looking to draw many users with the marketing. It would be our primary market for the scholarship program that we will provide.

10) Please share an inspiring quote to ‘wow’ us, please.

We didn’t receive any investments from VCs and we do not have an allocation for the influencers. We truly believe in this game and the token economy around it.

There will be some of you who wants to enjoy the game itself and some of you who are looking for an additional something from playing the game. We will try to make a game that is satisfactory for both parties.
