In the past few months, Ethereum has experienced an unprecedented period of congestion: long waits, high fees, and severe congestion. Our sense of mission is stronger and the road ahead is clearer. Since the last update, we have been working “non-sleeping” for 4 months, but the encouraging meme and private messages have given us the strength to move on.
It’s time to take a breath. We are full of tension and excitement to announce our milestone to everyone: today is the first phase of our testnet launch, and it also marks our entry into a new chapter.
Test online plan
Due to the huge demand, we have chosen a gradual launch process, that is, only a small number of early adopters are integrated at a time to provide the best support for each project.
Synthetix volunteered to be the first warrior to eat crabs! In order to motivate users to participate, the project party provided 200,000 SNX tokens to reward those who use (and destroy) the testnet.
We don’t know how to thank Synthetix for giving us the opportunity to really test our code in an environment close to the mainnet.
The testnet is now open to the public, but the deployment of public contracts has not yet been opened. In order to better isolate bugs when they occur, the first phase of the testnet only opens some functions.
As our confidence in the stability of the testnet grows stronger, we will execute each phase step by step until the entire Optimistic Ethereum system is up and running.
Stage A-No deposit or withdrawal functions are open. Airdrop tokens to L2 Goerli, and allow participants to mint and burn sUSD, and obtain pledge rewards.
Stage B-Turn on the deposit function. Airdrop Goerli SNX to participants. At this time, users can increase their SNX pledge through deposits.
Security rehearsal-Upgrade OVM contract and add verification function. We will actively initiate fraud and reward users who successfully submit a fraud proof!
Phase C-Turn on the withdrawal function. Participants must successfully complete withdrawals to receive testnet rewards on the mainnet.
At the same time, we will allow other early adopters to prepare for the integration testnet so that they can deploy when the complete mainnet is online.
