How does emerging technology support and encourage an impact economy?
Introducing ixo, the blockchain for impact.
Please join us for an informative and inspirational evening about ixo’s work building a blockchain protocol for the impact economy with Joyce Zhang, Policy Lead and Amply Project Lead. Learn about real life use cases for blockchain that help us reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as originating carbon credits as carbon tokens from clean burning cookstoves and reforestation projects, or making impact bonds liquid and tradeable.
For more information about ixo, please watch the following video:
ixo is the blockchain for impact. ixo’s blockchain protocol provides a shared data layer for social impact and sustainable development measurement, enabling funding to be linked to proof of outcomes. Through the creation of new digital assets based on impact measurements, which can range from carbon offsets to health improvements, ixo can enable new impact investing instruments with verifiable proof of impact. Its first project, Amply, has digitized more than 60,000 pre-school attendance records in South Africa, which pre-school operators submit in exchange for government subsidies. Amply is UNICEF Innovation Fund’s first blockchain investment.
Drinks and light catering provided.
Following our event, we encourage our members to head to the Belgian Beer Cafe (www.belgianbeercafemelbourne.com.au) located at 5 Riverside Quay Southbank Boulevard for beer and a bite.
