In the third quarter of this year, Grayscale Investments, a digital currency asset management company, brought in more than $1 billion in new investments.

Grayscale announced its digital asset investment report for the third quarter of this year on Wednesday. The report shows that in the third quarter Grayscale has raised $1.05 billion through investment products, which is also its best quarter in history. The investment in Grayscale products so far this year has exceeded US$2.4 billion, more than twice the total investment from 2013 to 2019.

Among all the company’s products, the grayscale Bitcoin Trust is far ahead, with inflows of slightly less than US$720 million this quarter. However, investor demand for other Grayscale products is also growing. A total of 31% of capital inflows in the third quarter came from products other than Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.

The company said that 81% of the investment in the third quarter came from institutional investors and 57% came from investors who invested in multiple products. The company stated that this reflects the growing interest of investors outside of Bitcoin.

As of September 30, the assets under management of 10 products of Grayscale were approximately US$5.9 billion.

According to a report by “Beijing”, Grayscale announced just this week that its Grayscale Ethereum Trust has become a digital currency investment tool reported to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The trust is now registered under the Securities Exchange Law. This is also the second such product reported to the SEC after Grayscale Bitcoin Trust went public on January 21, 2020.

After the registration application becomes effective, the basic structure of the trust will not change. In addition to complying with all other obligations stipulated in the “Transaction Law”, Grayscale also needs to submit quarterly and annual reports and audited 10 -Q and 10-K financial statements and 8-K forms. The reporting standards will be the same as those followed by listed companies and exchange-traded products trading on the stock exchange.
