[Blockchain Today Reporter Ji-Hye Han] It seems that cryptocurrency is not the exclusive property of American stars in the global entertainment world. Recently, a J-pop star appeared on a leading Japanese TV show and was attracting attention by talking about cryptocurrency.

Nakada Kana has been active in Nogizaka46 in the past. Nogizaka 46 is a Japanese girl group that has also topped the Oricon chart, which can be called a Japanese billboard.

Recently, Kana Nakada appeared on the program of TBS, one of Japan’s leading broadcasting networks, and talked about cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency trading.

According to Modelpress and Daily.co, Nakada Kana appeared on TBS’s’Sunday Zapon’ on January 31st. Sunday Zapon is a program that TBS airs every Sunday. On the broadcast, Nakada Kana said that she has invested in cryptocurrencies and has recently disposed of some of her cryptocurrencies. The reason was that prices were expected to fall in the future.

The broadcast host asked Kana Nakada about whether the price of cryptocurrency could rise again as the Tokyo Olympics approaching date. Kana Nakada avoided direct answers and replied, “I made a profit” in the transaction.

Nakada Kana withdrew from Nogizaka 46 last October. However, the relationship between Nogizaka 46 and cryptocurrency seems strong. Last year, Asuka Saito (still active in the group), one of Nogizaka 46 members, appeared in an advertisement on the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange bitFlyer. During the production of the advertisement, Asuka Saito specifically talked about his views on cryptocurrency and advertisement production at the time of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, SKE48, a rival of Nogizaka 46, recently introduced the NFT digital transaction card. According to SKE48’s blockchain partner Coinbook, last year’s SKE-48’s first NFT card was sold immediately.

According to an update on SKE48’s official website, the trading card will start on sale last week and will only be available until February 2nd. In the card, SKE48 members are known to appear wearing traditional Japanese costumes to commemorate the Lunar New Year.

The token was implemented on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain network, and the ERC-721 NFT protocol was used.
