Building a better tomorrow for all of us.
“ You can’t take money from the taxpayers out of the treasury to give it to pay off your political donors. That’s corruption to do that.” — Michele Bachmann.
Thomas just received his hard-earned paycheque, an amount he had been waiting on for the past two weeks, he looked over the cheque with a smirk. Hard-earned he thought, looking through his pay stub he noticed a few things. First, the taxes took a bit, healthcare, pension, government fees. He expected more, looking over it he realized where it had gone through.
Next Thomas hopped into his car, this month he thought, the last payment on his 7-year-old car, so proud to finally feel accomplished to make that last payment. The bank had charged him a higher interest because he hadn’t ever had a loan before this. Turning on the car he shifted into drive, turning down the side street he heads for the bank. As he pulls up his vehicle begins to shutter. “What is going on now,” Thomas shook his head, the mechanic had explained to him it was his alternator but this felt like something much worse.
As he pulled into the bank parking lot the car started to shake a little worse as he slowed. Pulling into the parking spot, he popped in into the park and popped the hood and stepped out. As he wandered around the front of the vehicle he grabbed on and popped the latch on the hood and lifted it. Smoke billowed out from underneath, he could clearly see a hose had split, the spray of coolant sizzled on the hot engine.
Slamming the hood Thomas waved his hands, how he thought, when things are going so good, this stupid car. Wiping his hands on his blue jeans he walked over to the bank entrance and opened the door, you could hear the radio playing over the speakers in the bank inviting, air-conditioned. The lineup was 5 people deep and only two tellers were working away at handling the customers. Seemed to be a common occurrence at the bank. Standing in line he pulled out his paycheque from his pocket and held it at his side.
Finally, after a 5-minute wait he was able to get to the bank teller, “Hello sir how can I help you,” she quipped as she looked at her computer half paying attention. “I’m here to deposit my Paycheque, as well I want to go over some options previously that my banker had scheduled to meet me for.” The lady pushed her glasses back with her finger looking at Thomas. “Ok, no problem sir.”
5 minutes later Thomas had deposited his cheques and paid his numerous outstanding bills, electrical, gas, his last monthly payment on his car. He now sat down on the couch in front of the banker’s office, he had busy at the time when he had come in, but the people had left 10 minutes before. The banker popped his head from behind the door and waved Thomas in. “So Thomas your here to talk about your investments I heard?” Nodding his head Thomas sat down on the chair, “Yes sir, I not sure what do to think I didn’t seem to make much last month.” Quickly the man typed away on the computer keyboard bringing up his file.
“Well Thomas, yeah we put you into a moderate risk accountant, I am happy to say you made 6% over the last month.” Shaking his head, he looked at the man in confusion, “It sure doesn’t look like 6%, sir?” Smiling the man rubbed his hands together and looked at Thomas. “Well Thomas, you forgot our fees, we take a percentage of 2% on each transaction and we did move your investment around a few times, also dependant on the stock, some lost a little bit so we tried to move you quickly to lose anything too horrible!”
Total fees on his monthly investment totalled 27.00, a total investment he had $120.00. Original investment, $116.00. How could this make sense, he could have invested it himself, he shook his head. “You know Thomas we signed that agreement for 6 months to take care of your money, I realize you’re not happy but there will be better months.” Shaking the man’s hand Thomas stood up and turned back out into the main showroom. Imagine he thought, first my mortgage, prime rate plus 3%, now my investments, my car, government fees.
He never even thought about his property tax, bills and bank fees on each one of them. To even think if he missed a payment, or made a payment with insufficient funds. Plus government fees are taken out to pay his healthcare or pension. First, it was the bank, then the government, now his car, his paycheque out of all of it, he was left with 80.00 to survive off for the month. Still, he needed to fix his car now, his insurance would be due next. What could he do but think about finding a second job?
This is the life we live in today guys, one that is run by governments and a centralized system built on the back of archaic moneylenders. Now is the time for a change, to learn and educate yourself on cryptocurrency, why the system was orginally made. Why as a people we need to change and create a better world for all of us. Sometimes the government aren’t in the wrong, but it’s time for us to learn a better way of holding onto funds. How to stake, how to trade when necessarily you should pull out your investment.
Microloans, contracts, there is so much out there that we can grow and learn within the crypto market. So much opportunity instead of going to the bank and getting a loan. In front of us is a horizon of change! You just need to go out and find it and make the proper educated decisions to make a change. Yes, taxes are important to pay, but with the evolution of crypto cards a need to pull the crypto out becomes less. No more paying 18–21% on a credit card that just puts you further into debt. Time for real change for our society!
Imagine in third world countries it’s even worse, corrupt money lenders, high-interest rate loan sharks, no way to start a business or do something different with your life. Here in front of us we have an opportunity to escape the grasp of tyranny and build a new decentralized community of hope and change! This isn’t just about ourselves, there is so many more stuck under corrupt government rule or dictators. When we learn they will learn as we will all pass on our knowledge. Let’s all start thinking outside of the box and end corruption!
