In an interview with Bloomberg TV, the club said it plans to hold it in cryptocurrency rather than convert it to fiat currency.
“We believe and hope to continue,” Caval said.
A’s is MLB’s first team to accept cryptocurrency payments, but recent developments show a growing interest in other North American professional sports leagues. NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings paved the way for adoption of cryptocurrency trading in the basketball league.
