Rick Rasmussen is an Industry Fellow and Member of Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to teaching, he serves as the Director of Startup Programs for the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology responsible for creation of new programs centering on Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. He is also appointed Adjunct Faculty for Northeastern University.
Mr. Rasmussen is the Head of Chief Mentors for the European Innovation Academy and has run programs ranging from 200 to 500 students in Shenzhen, Doha, Lisbon and Turin.
He is a Managing Director of Concordia Ventures, a strategic management firm that assists with innovation ecosystem development for over 20 governments and economic development agencies worldwide. Prior, he served three years as the Trade Commissioner for the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Mr. Rasmussen is a Silicon Valley native that has been part of five IPOs, three billion dollar exits, mentored over 1500 companies and currently advises over two dozen accelerators. He is a past Entrepreneur-in-Residence of Institution Venture Partners and member of the Sand Hill Angels investment group. Mr. Rasmussen earned an EECS degree with highest honors from UC Berkeley as well as a dual MBA degree from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Columbia’s Graduate School of Business in New York City.
