Keynote Speaker:
Boyd Cohen, Ph.D., Dean of Research, EADA and Co-Founder and CEO.
Boyd is a globally recognized expert in smart cities and smart mobility. He has published three books, has the highest cited peer reviewed paper on shared mobility and has co-founded two previous software companies. He regularly addresses Smart Cities and Blockchain conferences across Europe, Asia and America. He is co-Founder and CEO of IoMob, a blockchain protocol connecting mobility services (transit, taxis, bikes, etc) with users in a seamless UX driven by token economics. Boyd created the Smart Cities Wheel as a framework for developing and implementing smart city strategies and for benchmarking cities around the globe. He recently translated this framework into the new global Blockchain Cities world ranking for 2018, and is Executive Director of the Blockchain Cities Alliance, an association aimed at future-proofing the smart cities movement with blockchain technology.

Rita Arrigo, Chief Digital Advisor, Microsoft
Rita is a digital advisor with over 25 years’ experience in delivering and developing digital solutions. She has worked in Telco, Digital Agencies and Consulting with Banking and Government clients. With a passion for collaboration, problem-solving and facilitation skills, she is focused on digital transformation using design lead experience. Recently she has worked with IOT in Smart Building, Digital Workspace, Scenario Design and Holographic Solutions. Her projects allow for the fast execution of Minimal Viable Products and include Mobile Applications, IOT, Customer Experience, Service Design, Business Intelligence Solutions and Employee Engagement solutions.
Jamie Skella, Chief Product Officer, Horizon State
Technologist and futurist Jamie Skella has spent 20 years in the design, building and advising of businesses across blockchain, IoT, and even future food. Formerly Board of Directors at MiVote, Jamie co-founder of Horizon State, winner of the World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer award – joining the likes of Google, Airbnb, and Spotify – and was also voted 7 of 100 on a list of world-changing companies by The Australian.
Associate Professor Ellie Rennie is a Principal Research Fellow based across RMIT’s Blockchain Innovation Hub and the Digital Ethnography Research Centre. She investigates the social dynamics of emerging technologies, focusing on digital inclusion, automation, and civil society. She has published four books.
Moderator:
Lorraine Tighe has worked in IT transformation for over 20 years, across banking, shipping and logistics, and government sectors here and in Ireland. Lorraine worked with the City of Melbourne to build Melbourne’s smart city foundations. She established CityLab, City of Melbourne’s Innovation Lab and led a number of strategic initiatives to enhance Melbourne’s reputation as a smart city, including open data, city Wi-Fi, IoT trials and the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge.
