[Blockchain Today Reporter Jeong Seung-won] According to foreign media on the 2nd (local time), British bank Standard Chartered (SC) announced the launch of cryptocurrency trading and brokerage services.

SC Bank announced that its innovative subsidiary, SC Ventures, will build the platform. According to Bitcoin.com, the move will be a joint venture between Hong Kong-based digital asset investment firm SC Ventures and BC Technology Group.

The new exchange is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, subject to regulatory approval.

BC Technology is operating OSL, the first cryptocurrency exchange licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

Alex Manson, President of SC Ventures, said: “We have strong confidence that digital assets will continue and will be adopted as a highly relevant asset class in the institutional market. We are building the building blocks for a secure and reliable investment infrastructure.”
