He emphasized that his own development is not for speculators, but for developers. His core goal is to develop tools so that other developers can easily use or inherit the templates he designed and use these templates to create products. He worries that the participation of speculators will cause a disorder of the incentive mechanism.
He believes that tokens are not stocks. Although people treat tokens like stocks, tokens are a coordination mechanism. If someone holds tokens, it is because he wants to be a contributor, not a bystander. He also pointed out that the concept of “community” has caused some misunderstandings. Teams and communities should not be distinguished. They are all contributors. While tokens are designed for a specific system, their price is not important.
Cronje also explained his own development method and development cycle, including local testing, interactive testing, compliance testing, integration testing, etc. Testing is an iterative process. When the system is not mature enough, he said that he does not want users to take the risk of providing liquidity to YFI. He also mentioned some projects he participated in, such as EMN and LBI.
Cronje said, “People confuse price and function. LBI is a good example. People buy LBI from Uniswap and raise the price. This is something that a rational person who understands how the system works will never do. Down, this is considered a “failed” project.
