According to a recent survey conducted by Piplsay, 41% of Britons said that investing in cryptocurrency is as risky as investing in stocks. This survey was conducted for 18 years of age or older, and a total of 6,070 people participated in the survey. It was conducted in the form of asking for opinions on cryptocurrency and stock investment.
According to the results, 45% of respondents said that cryptocurrency investment is more risky than stock investment. On the other hand, more than 40% of the participants viewed cryptocurrency as safe, followed by â–³unsafe (31%) â–³do not know (27%).
Almost 30% of respondents believe that cryptocurrency is at risk of being lost due to hacking, and 26% cited regulation as a problem. Interestingly, volatility wasn’t that big of an issue. Only 19% of respondents cited volatility as a problem.
Although interest in cryptocurrency is increasing, few respondents are still willing to invest in cryptocurrency. 57% of British citizens said they had no intention of investing in cryptocurrency.
Peoplesay’s survey results show that confidence in cryptocurrency is still low. And 46% of respondents said they don’t know much about cryptocurrency.
35% of’Gen Z’and millennials knew cryptocurrency well, and 39% viewed it as a safe investment destination. 37% of Gen Z and 27% of Millennials said they plan to invest in cryptocurrency this year. In contrast, among “Gen X”, 29% of respondents understood cryptocurrency, and 22% said it was safe. 27% of respondents said they had plans to invest in cryptocurrency this year.
Respondents said they were not interested in cryptocurrency investments, but 46% said that large companies such as Apple, Amazon, and Tesco should accept cryptocurrency payments. It shows that the demand for cryptocurrency as a payment method is increasing.
Young people’s cryptocurrency investment is not new. According to the Independent Reserve Cryptocurrency Index (IRCI), nearly 20% of Australian youth invested in cryptocurrencies in 2020.
Meanwhile, Wirex also conducted a survey on cryptocurrency investment in 2021 in collaboration with the Stellar Development Foundation. According to the survey, older investors also slowly invest in cryptocurrency. Of the respondents aged 45-54, 45% said they are investing in cryptocurrency. Ages 45-54 were the largest population among the 3,834 people surveyed.
