There is no legal problem in mining itself

In the UK, police raided a building after receiving a report of suspected cannabis cultivation, but it turned out to be a bitcoin mining mine, which is a hot topic.

On the 28th (local time), according to local media such as the British Guardian, British West Midlands Metropolitan County police raided an industrial complex in Sandwell near Birmingham on the 18th, and on the 18th (local time) found.

Earlier, the police initiated an investigation after receiving reports that the building was suspected of being a cannabis farm.

Police investigated how many people were entering and leaving the building, and when they used a drone, they noticed strong heat coming out of the building.

Growing cannabis indoors requires a lot of lighting to replace sunlight, and British police estimates that the heat comes from the cultivation bulbs.

Also, when a large number of electric power lines and ventilation devices were confirmed from the outside, they launched a raid.

However, when the police came to the scene, they found a bitcoin mining farm, not a cannabis farm. About 100 computers with ventilation systems were lined up at the site.

It’s different from a cannabis farm, but the enormous heat came out when the computer was running 24 hours a day for cryptocurrency mining.

“It looked completely different from what we expected,” said Sandwell Genture Griffin. “It had all the features of the cannabis planting facility, and in reality it was the second cryptocurrency mine in the jurisdiction.”

Cryptocurrency mining itself is not illegal in the UK. However, the police found that it was illegally using electricity to supply enormous power to the place.

The police said that there was nobody at the scene at the time of the raid, and only the equipment was confiscated and then proceeding with further investigation.
