Bybit Web3, a leading platform for crypto derivatives trading, hosted a Twitter spaces session on January 6, 2024, to introduce Bitcoin Cats, a new GameFi project that aims to bridge the gap between Bitcoin and Ethereum ecosystems. The session featured speakers from Bybit Web3, Bitcoin Cats, and Anndy Lian, a blockchain expert and book author.

Bitcoin Cats is a game that allows players to use their Bitcoin assets (BRC20, Ordinals NFT and others) on Ethereum and other Layer2 networks, unlocking new possibilities for Play2Earn, Staking, Farmland, SocialFi and more. The game has three main features:

  • Play and Explore: Players can create their own avatars and explore the open world, where they can encounter and fight with various monsters. The game also has quests, events, and rewards for players to enjoy.
  • Farm and Earn: Players can own and customize their own farmland, where they can plant crops and breed adorable pets. The farmland also generates income for players, as they can sell or trade their produce and pets with other players.
  • Social with Friends: Players can interact with other players, form teams for adventures, and share their experiences in the game world. The game also has a social network feature, where players can chat, post, and follow each other.

The game is powered by the Bitcoin Cats token (BCAT), which is used for governance, transactions, and rewards in the game. The token is also compatible with both Bitcoin and Ethereum networks, enabling cross-chain interoperability and liquidity.

Anndy Lian, who joined the session as a guest speaker, shared his insights on the potential of Bitcoin Cats and the GameFi sector. He emphasized the importance of community building and engagement, as well as the need for innovation and collaboration among different blockchain projects. He said:
