Blockcast.cc is delighted to be part of The Block Live Asia event held in Singapore this month. B+ ratings obtained.

The Block Live Asia was held in Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore 18-19 April. Here’s our evaluation of this event!

Overall rating: B+ (Maximum rating: A+)

1)     Theme of the blockchain event

The theme of Block Live Asia is to “Make Blockchain GR8 Again”! The topic of keynote and panel discussion are mostly related to the state of blockchain regulation, cryptocurrency investment and cryptocurrency as means of payment. We think key speakers such as Roger Ver and Felix Mago delivered high-quality keynote to the audiences! One area of topic we felt interesting is AI integration with blockchain technology, especially with use cases in how AI bot can predict US stock based on insider trading!

2)     Scale of event

From our observation, there are over 300 participants in throughout the 2 days of Block Live Asia. The audience on 19 April are much fewer than the previous day, possibly a result of Easter holiday. We noticed that most participants are from the project teams in crypto and blockchain industry, which reflects there are plenty rooms of improvement to raise public awareness in blockchain. There are over 20 media partners for Block Live Asia, however, only 5-10 of them actually came to the event from our observation. We think that the VIP zone and media area of the event can be improved as well, such as having a dedicated media area instead of merely a media wall.

3)     Amount of promotional content

This criterion is important for readers to evaluate a blockchain event, as the event is deemed unsuccessful if there is too much promotional content without industry insights. We think that the amount of promotional content in Block Live Asia is fair. Even on the #MOON Stage the speakers delivered their own insights as well instead of project promotion.

4)     Event location, transportation and logistics arrangement

We think that the location is ideal in Singapore, which is easily accessibly by MRT and public transport. The amenities are decent as well with its proximity to Marina Bay Sands. However, we think that the logistics arrangement from the organizer can be improved especially 19 April, which the event commenced with 1-hour delay.
