[Blockchain Today Correspondent Han Ji-hye] Seoul National University Hospital Operation Seoul Boramae Hospital (Director Seung-yong Jeong) and OpusM Consortium announced on the 22nd that they had completed the construction of a ‘blockchain-based medical narcotics integrated management platform’ and started their service on the 22nd.

This project is part of the ‘Blockchain Leading Pilot Project in 2021’ promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). This was done to advance the prevention and follow-up management system.

Boramae Hospital, which was selected as the demanding institution for the project, designed its data structure based on the international medical data standard HL7/FHIR and pharmaceutical international standard code during the development period for about six months after the agreement in May. Based on blockchain middleware technology, which is a solution, a systematic medical data management system has been established.

Through this project, Boramae Hospital will be able to more reliably manage the entire process of medical narcotics handled in the hospital, and provide statistical information on various medical narcotics by securing accurate and transparent data.

Director Jeong Seung-yong said, “Through this project, we expect to further strengthen the credibility of medical information managed and reported in the hospital, thereby reducing the burden on hospitals and medical staff, and further enhancing social trust in the management of narcotics for medical use.” .

OpusM CEO Lee Jin-seok said, “We plan to expand the system to hospitals affiliated with Seoul Metropolitan City in the future, and so far, four hospitals and general hospitals affiliated with Seoul have expressed their intention to participate. It will be a good example to play a role.”
