GREENVILLE, S.C. (PRWEB) DECEMBER 12, 2018
Today, the GoldCoin Team announced that it has secured the services of famed cryptocurrency developer Peter “Bushstar” Bushnell as Senior Developer of its historic Reverse Bitcoin Hard Fork.
Peter launched Feathercoin in 2013 and invented Advanced Checkpointing later that same year. His journey into cryptocurrency started in 2011 mining Bitcoin before shifting interest into the varied world of alternative cryptocurrencies. Before starting Feathercoin, Peter worked 11 years developing administrative systems for Brasenose, one of the Oxford University colleges.
“Peter Bushnell is the best cryptocurrency developer in the Industry,” said GoldCoin Core developer, Greg “MicroGuy” Matthews. “And we wanted the very best for this landmark Bitcoin fork, so we asked Peter to join us on the project, and to our good fortune he agreed.”
As was announced last week, the Goldcoin Team will be reverse hard forking the Bitcoin blockchain and merging its current users into the newly forked chain. With this reverse hard fork, Goldcoin regains the bitcoin genesis block and will stake its claim as the rebranded original. This will allow Goldcoin to grow at a much more rapid pace and will help to unite both ideological camps, supporters of Bitcoin Core, and supporters of Bitcoin Cash.
“Having worked with Peter on a different project in the past, I knew that he was the natural favorite to lead our development team in this first ever ‘reverse fork’ of Bitcoin,” said GoldCoin Team Leader, William Coogan.
This new Goldcoin blockchain will combine the best of the best of the Bitcoin Forks with GoldCoin to provide on-chain scaling, off-chain scaling, faster blocks, and faster difficulty adjustment. And just like in previous Bitcoin hard forks, each and every one of the 5 million Bitcoin owners today will become a new GoldCoin owner.
As per the Goldcoin 2019 Roadmap, the whitepaper will be published on Christmas Day with the proceeding hard fork being deployed 2nd quarter 2019.
