[Blockchain Today Reporter Seung-won Jeong] Huobi Korea announced on the 18th that it has obtained information security management system (ISMS) certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

ISMS certification is a system that certifies a comprehensive management system including administrative, technical, and physical protection measures to ensure the stability and reliability of the information and communications network.

According to the Act on Reporting and Use of Specific Financial Transaction Information (hereinafter referred to as Special Provisions Act), which is scheduled to take effect in March this year, virtual asset business operators (VASP) including exchanges will be referred to the Financial Information Analysis Institute (FIU) as’virtual asset business operators’ by September. It can be opened only after the report is completed. Obtaining ISMS certification is one of the essential requirements for reporting as a virtual asset business.

With this announcement, Huobi Korea became the first global virtual asset exchange to receive ISMS certification.

Park Si-deok, CEO of Huobi Korea, said, “By acquiring ISMS, as an institutional business operator, we have crossed the ridge of the 9th division. We are doing our best to protect our customers’ information and assets.”

On the other hand, Huobi Korea is the world’s largest virtual asset exchange with no accidents for 8 years, and is trying to protect investors with the world’s best security technology by introducing facial recognition technology for the first time in a domestic exchange.
