Hyperliquid’s HYPE token fell 0.78% to $83.71 over 24 hours, a modest decline in a broadly weaker crypto market. The pullback was driven primarily by technical selling and regulatory uncertainty around a proposed U.S. trading platform. While the drop was not severe, it interrupted the token’s recent upward momentum and left traders focused on nearby support levels.
On the technical side, HYPE broke below its nine-day moving average at $84.80 and the $85.19 Fibonacci support level, which triggered selling as traders exited positions after a key level failed. The move was compounded by lingering uncertainty over a proposed regulated U.S. perpetual-futures platform that would use Hyperliquid infrastructure. The platform was announced on October 29 by ICE, the parent of the NYSE, and Trade[XYZ], but it still requires regulatory approval and has no confirmed launch date. A daily close back above $84.80 would signal short-term recovery potential.
Broader market pressure also played a role. Bitcoin fell below $77,000 amid significant U.S. spot ETF outflows, including $398.6 million on November 2 alone, which dampened risk appetite across crypto. The CMC Altcoin Season Index fell 4.26% to 45, indicating capital rotation away from altcoins. HYPE’s decline was therefore partly a beta move, influenced by institutional selling pressure on Bitcoin and a risk-off tone for higher-beta assets.
In the near term, the immediate structure tests the $80 to $82 support zone. If this area holds, a rebound toward the $84.80 to $85.19 resistance is plausible. A decisive break below $80, however, could see a test of the next major support near $78. The reported distribution of approximately 180,000 HYPE, worth about $15.7 million, around November 6 is a near-term event that could influence supply dynamics. The trend is neutral to bearish in the very short term, awaiting a clear break from the $80 to $85 range. Traders should watch the price reaction at $80 and any volume spikes around the November 6 distribution date.
The combination of a technical breakdown and unresolved regulatory questions has paused HYPE’s recent uptrend, with broader market weakness adding pressure. The market outlook is neutral to bearish. The key watch is whether Bitcoin can stabilize above $76,400 to relieve altcoin pressure and whether HYPE holds $80 on a daily closing basis.
