Ground X, who developed the Kakao blockchain platform’Clayton’, joined hands with’Consensys’ to participate in the Bank of Korea’s digital currency (CBDC) business.

Ground X announced on the 25th that it has decided to cooperate with Ethereum-based developer Consensys to improve the performance of Clayton, a blockchain platform developed by itself.

Consensys is a blockchain technology solutions company founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Rubin. In particular, Consensys is currently leading the central bank digital currency (CBDC) business in major countries such as Singapore, Australia, and Thailand using Quorum, a private blockchain that is compatible with Ethereum.

Ground X has agreed to work with Consensys to improve the performance of the blockchain platform Clayton and the private version of Clayton under development.

The company explained that these functions are necessary for high specification of the CBDC platform that the Bank of Korea intends to build on a trial basis in the second half of this year.
