Tokyo-based company Pockebit, Inc. (hereinafter, “Pockebit”) has developed the first functional model of the Pockebit Smart Wallet.
Pockebit is a compact, contactless hardware cryptocurrency wallet with a touchscreen display.
Pockebit has a secure on-chip system to keep private keys safe. This hardware wallet is backed up by a software platform and accessed via a smartphone app, making cryptocurrencies secure and accessible even to those new to the technology.
A hardware wallet is a physical electronic device that is designed for secure storage of cryptocurrency private keys. Keeping private keys locked in a separate device is more secure than keeping them in a software wallet, such as those installed on a laptop or smartphone. Software wallets are vulnerable to spyware, malware leaks, or direct hacking attacks.
Pockebit is the compact, contactless hardware wallet offering a high level of protection from hacking, tampering, or exposure. Most competitors’ hardware wallets need a physical connection to the primary device.
Pockebit presented the first functional prototype of the Pockebit Smart Wallet at the Singapore Fintech Festival on November 12-16, 2018.
The pre-order launch for the first batch of Pockebit is planned for early 2019. Future announcements are planned, by late December 2018, to reveal additional details and updates.
