[Blockchain Today Correspondent Han Ji-hye] An organization directly under the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung is planning to visit Com2uS, a mobile game company, to find ways to revitalize the blockchain industry and identify difficulties in the game industry.
Lee Kwang-jae, chairman of the Future Economics Committee, an organization directly under Lee Jae-myung, and Park Young-sun, chairman of the Digital Innovation and Conversion Committee, will visit Com2us’ headquarters on the 7th to discuss the industry situation.
It is reported that Chairman Lee Kwang-jae and Chairman Park Young-sun plan to visit the motion capture room and YouTube studio in the Com2uS building and discuss ways to revitalize the blockchain industry, including NFT games, through a meeting with company officials.
In Korea, P2E games that introduce NFTs based on blockchain are illegal. This is because in-game virtual goods can be refunded in cash, which can encourage speculation. For this reason, even if domestic game companies develop P2E games, they are only released overseas.
Rep. Lee Kwang-jae said, “NFT-based games, which are evaluated as the most promising market, are in a situation where distribution is blocked.” He added, “In order to nurture the industry and revitalize the healthy NFT-based game market by boldly changing the system that blocks the possibility of blockchain technology, We need to come up with guidelines,” he said of the purpose of this visit.
Com2uS previously announced that it will introduce various mobile games such as △Chromatic Soul: AFK Raid △Summoners War: Chronicle △Colossus M Jinbirok as P2E games with blockchain technology applied.
