He said he was willing to buy bitcoin as an investment before the bitcoin ban came into force last year. However, the price was considered too high at the time. “I tried to buy it to accumulate. But the bitcoins were already up too much, and I was angry at the money spent. If the bitcoins were 100 rubles before the ban, I would have bought them,” he said. said.
In this interview, Aksakov argued that “with the excessive volatility of Bitcoin in mind, it should not be sold to ineligible investors.” It also noted that Russia’s cryptocurrency tax system was developed, and emphasized that the cryptocurrency tax system is now created on a voluntary basis, and that bills requiring reporting have only been drafted by Parliament.
Aksakov is a major Russian financier who serves as the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee of the Russian Financial Markets and a member of the National Banking Committee of the Bank of Russia. He is best known as a Bitcoin critic, and last year he predicted no future for BTC.
Aksakov’s remarks came shortly after another regulatory measure proposed to partially lift the ban on cryptocurrency payments at the end of May. Russia’s major cryptocurrency law was officially banned in January as part of the Digital Financial Assets Act.
