Istanbul Başakşehir was the champion of the Turkish Super League last season. It has joined the Socios platform and will launch its own fan token ($IBFK) at the end of 2020.
$IBFK, like other fan tokens in the Socios ecosystem, gives holders voting rights and rewards, aiming to increase fan participation and make money from various online or offline fan activities.
Token holders can vote on the club’s decisions and earn points. The accumulated points can be redeemed for VIP tournament tickets or opportunities to meet with club players.
Istanbul Başakşehir is the third Turkish club to sign the Socios platform and has joined other internationally renowned football clubs such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and so on.
Just yesterday, Cointelegraph reported that the German football club Bayern Munich has joined the blockchain-based fantasy football platform Sorare, and many clubs signed with Socios have also joined the platform.
Sorare uses non-homogeneous tokens as the basis of its digital player card, which is different from the homogenous tokens used in the Socios ecosystem. The fan tokens of the club brand Socios are issued in limited quantities and can be exchanged with Chiliz ($CHZ), the native token of the blockchain, on the platform market.
The sports and crypto circles seem to be very interested in fan tokens. In June 2020, Chiliz and Socios sold $1.3 million worth of FC Barcelona brand tokens in less than two hours.
Socios also recently launched a Visa debit card. This debit card supports prepayment between cryptocurrency and fiat currency, and has been improved based on its earlier version, which can be used to purchase goods and services throughout the European Economic Area. .
