Vitalik Buterin, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, expressed the hope that Ethereum users will pay attention to the second-tier expansion solution.
In his opening speech at the Ethereum Economic Virtual Conference organized by Coindesk, he stated that in the face of the recent high transaction costs of the Ethereum network, Ethereum users should turn to solutions that increase its scalability.
Buterin said these solutions “already exist in many kinds of applications,” such as the Rollup solution that keeps transaction data on the chain while stripping the computational load from the chain. He believes that since Ethereum’s roadmap for expanding its blockchain’s sharding technology may take several years to achieve, users must start to support Rollup.
He appealed, “If you are listening to this program, whether you are an exchange, a wallet, a mining pool, or a user, you should know what Rollup is and what they do. Basically, your strategy is to They transfer.”
Buterin also praised “some optimistic Rollup solutions” and ZK Rollup, both of which use zero-knowledge proof technology. Using these solutions on the current Ethereum blockchain can increase the transaction throughput from 15 to 15 per second. 1000 to 4000 per second.
He said, “As far as our current situation is concerned, for simple payments, we have actually done it, for example, you can make Ethereum transactions in Rollup. The challenge now is to get everyone to really move here.”
Buterin did not specify when Ethereum will actually switch to a Proof of Stake (PoS) model, only that Phase 0 of Ethereum 2.0 will be implemented “soon”.
