Rumors spread around online communities about a man’s controversy at Bongam Bridge in Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, saying, “I’m looking at coin fluctuations and deciding whether to commit”, but it turned out to be not true.

On the 18th, an article titled “Today’s Bitcoin Suicide Bustle” was shared around the online community.

The author laughed at the man trying to commit, saying, “A man tried to invest at the top of Bongam Bridge at around 2:58 pm on the 17th, but hesitated at the news that bitcoin is rising for a while.”

To this, netizens responded, saying, “Coin is not falling because it has risen for a while” and “I am scared because of the coin”.

In fact, bitcoin, which had been traded at the highest level of 58 million won until the morning of the 17th, dropped sharply to the 51 million won level around 1 pm, and then rose again from 2 pm and recovered to the 56 million won level around 4 pm.

However, this turned out to be not true.

On the 18th, the Changwon Western Police Department explained that the rumor was “not at all true.”

The police explained, “A man in his 40s has been working as a daily job, but recently it was difficult to work with Corona 19, so he was pessimistic about his personal affairs and tried to make an extreme choice.”

Regarding the picture taken while looking at the cell phone on the bridge, the police explained, “It was taken the moment a man threw a cell phone and said,’I don’t want to receive all contact’ when a phone call came in.”

After the incident, the police are discussing the installation of safety devices to prevent access to the top of Bongam Bridge.
