MAY 24th – Guatemala City: In partnership with Anacafe / Guatemalan Coffees, Yave brought top scoring coffees to new markets around the world. For some producers the auction was their first – with entries of smaller lot sizes and a variety of processing methods.
The traceability of the lots, the transparency of the pricing, and connected commerce at the retail end that Yave platform enables attracted buyers from around the world. Coffee lots were sold to Korea, Taiwan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, USA, Denmark, and Australia.
The highest price of $13.25 usd /lbs green was 14 times higher than the commodity price of $0.94 the day of the auction. For some buyers, this was their first auction experience and one they will repeat to offer their customers fully traceable specialty, single origin lots.
