[Blockchain Today Reporter Jang Myung-gwan] Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, is trying to improve customer support while entering India through the acquisition of a new startup.
According to a Cointelegraph report, on the 2nd (local time), Coinbase officially announced the acquisition of Agara, an artificial intelligence-enabled platform operating in India and the United States.
The acquisition aims to extend and automate Coinbase’s customer service capabilities by providing new machine learning and natural language processing tools to Coinbase’s engineering team. It is also overhauling the company’s strategy to expand its tech hub in India.
According to industry sources, the acquisition of Agara will cost between $40 million and $50 million, and the two companies are expected to sign a deal later this year.
According to Pankaj Gupta, head of operations for Coinbase in India, Agara’s tech team will also join Coinbase as part of the acquisition. Agara co-founder Gupta said, “We are looking forward to this acquisition helping both Agara and Coinbase.”
